The Methods Behind Elevated Supervision

One-off, periodic, disconnected training for front-line Supervisors & Managers doesn't work.

Too many companies with large teams of front-line Supervisors and Managers view leadership development for these leaders as a box-checking activity that may include some recorded videos and assessments, delivered by someone that will never set foot on the shop floor.  Then, inexplicably,  we're surprised when there are personnel, productivity, and even legal problems bubbling up.   The problem is not the Supervisor, but the reality that we, as more senior leaders, are not providing the foundational skills and ongoing, long-term skills development required for the complexities of the front-line leader role.  Shame on us.

There's a Better Way

Complex Team Dynamics

Advanced topics in team dynamics designed to advance Supervisor skills in getting the most from their team.  In this module, the Supervisor will dive into much more complex issues that can ultimately nurture or destroy the Supervisor's credibility, and the cohesiveness of their team.

Basic Team Dynamics

The Team Dynamics program begins to build on the foundation we just laid, layering in specific techniques for basic team leadership.  A situational approach to effectively handling day to day team dynamics to achieve short term objectives.   Differentiating between acute and chronic problems, and how to navigate those.

Foundation

We begin at the beginning, establishing a baseline for what it means to lead.  Why this role is so critical, particularly as it relates to building credibility with employees.  There's no larger influence to a Supervisor's success than the relationship they have with their team.

Supervisor Career Growth

Ultimately, Supervisors have personal career growth goals that, as an organization, you should understand and support.  No doing so will only result in your talented front-line leaders leaving for greener pastures elsewhere.  This module will focus on connecting your corporate developed expectations to actionable growth plans for Supervisors.

Lean Leadership / CI

In this module, we transition from primarily soft skills to hard skills designed to build very specific lean / continuous improvement skills and techniques that the Supervisor can put to use immediately.  The goal with this module is to put new tools in the Supervisor's tool-belt that are practical and accessible enough that they will be used.

The Elevated Approach

Program Co-Development

Every program delivered by the Elevated Supervision team is slightly different, based on the current state of your Supervisor squad.  This co-development is likely a combination of virtual and on-premise sessions prior to the kick-off, where the program content, timeline, and delivery method are determined.  Much of the programs will include take-aways from engaging with your teams ahead of the delivery.

Program Delivery

We believe that the only way to deliver effective front-line supervisor skills development is in person.  The typical timeline is spread over 4-6 weeks, providing supervisor the opportunity to implement what they learn from each module, then come back with observations, or questions.  Our programs are not one-point lessons, short videos, or a slide deck.  We're going to transform your front-line leadership team.
